Don'T Try Poem by William McCully

Don'T Try

'Don’t try until I can help you.'
I roll the wheelchair into place and lock it down
She reaches for support – hands grasping at air
Where she believes life’s handle should be
Never trusting me to hold her hand or bear her weight
As if I’ve failed her before.

Life's handle...Pretty good description. Short but very involved. DC
