A Poet's Quiet Despair Poem by William McCully

A Poet's Quiet Despair

I fear of death but don’t know why
The logic isn’t there
The fear only exists
Because there is nothing to compare
We live a life of choices
But death seems quite unfair
No choice remains for most of us
But a poet’s quiet despair
