Dog Ends Of The Ends Poem by Magnus Kallas

Dog Ends Of The Ends

Rating: 5.0

This is where we gather
the proud ring of men

smoking dog ends of the ends
'til the end of days

living on benefits of benefits
misfits, drunks & immigrants

quoting greatest poets from all the poets
on Top of the Pops in the seventies

The Kinks, T-Rex & The Rolling Stones
we were listening

'til appearing, one day we saw
the lovers of our lovers make a mockery

like dark clouds in the skies of flattering
rising walls around, closing all familiar doors

'least this is how we remember it
the proud ring of men

smoking dog ends of the ends
'til the end of days

doing all the wrongs of wrongs
buying clothes from laundrettes

running away with hand-fulls of prawns
sold in fish stalls on Billingsgate floors

celebrating greatness of the Kray brothers
borrowing dogs to peg some pounds

hitting all time lows of lows while
being proud of the same old basics

our main foe of all the foes
what easy comes easy goes

'least this is how we are explaining this
the proud ring of men

smoking dog ends of the ends
'til the end of days
