Does It? (The Chase) Poem by Nika McGuin

Does It? (The Chase)

Rating: 5.0

Turn the page
change the book
trade places,
all the same outlook.

These blank pages are flipping,
curling, and unfurling in the wind -
empty like my life
and lonely like my soul!
Without a single word to say...

Was it all a pipe dream?
Thinking that a change of scenery
could change that inner part of me?
At times, that's how it seems.

Some things never change,
and some things do.
But does it ever happen
when you want it to?
Does it?

What if, that complete happiness we all seek
is nothing more than an illusion on the run,
an eternal game of hide and seek?
Always somewhere just out of reach.
Does knowing that fact ever
put an end to the chase?
Well, does it?

'What if, that complete happiness we all seek is nothing more than an illusion on the run, an eternal game of hide and seek? Always somewhere just out of reach...' may be true. Such a nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing.

No, never lose hope. Maybe, just maybe there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Another brilliant poem from you, Nika. Loved it
