Do Not Talk About Jesus Poem by Hebert Logerie

Do Not Talk About Jesus

Do not talk about Jesus
When you are a racist
Do not talk about religion
When you believe in execution
Of people who are innocent
Do not say that you're born again
When you're abusing or making fun
Of the poor, the weak and the indigents
The world is nothing but many huge tents
Why cannot we get along?
Why cannot we sing the same song?
Why cannot we read the same words of God?
Why do we have to use crimes and frauds
To mess up one another? Why? Why? Why?
Why do the rich get richer, die and leave
Billions to rot and to spoil?
Why do the poor get poorer, die and leave
Nothing for their children to boil?
Can you dig it? Do you get the message?
You don't to be a philosopher or a sage
To fully comprehend what I am saying
Jesus' name has a real divine meaning
Stop lying, sinning and blaspheming
If the lives of people who don't resemble you
Do not matter. Don't talk to us. Go turn blue
Nobody wants your diluted or contracted Bible
Put one with all the pages and chapters on the table
We want to read the Old and the New Testament
We want to see "free our people" who are innocent
If you don't want to criticize racism and slavery
Don't talk to us. Enough with this stupid hypocrisy
But talk to us if you're against supremacy, inequality
Racism, hate, discrimination, separation, and bigotry
Talk more; say more to us if you are for opportunity
For all, love, compassion, togetherness and decency
Jesus was for love, helping each other, oneness, and unity.
