Distracting Acts Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Distracting Acts

Dramatic performances are just that.
Distracting acts.
To avoid the facts.
And who initiated what goes on,
Behind the scenes to smoke screen.
As long as what is presented,
Is critiqued to leave those listening to feel.
The one in the spotlight,
Tells a story so real.
Easier it becomes to bring tears to eyes.
To the ones not to realize,
They have been duped and chosen.
As accessories to a crime.
That victimizes one picked to be the victim.
Instead of the culprit,
They rush to soothe and comfort.
Who has taken other distracting acts,
To places even God stands to applaud.
