Disheartened Heart Poem by Fluorescent Reality

Disheartened Heart

The sun always rises
But the light never shines
Amongst my disheartened heart.
The tunes deafening thoughts,
The sting silencing spirit.
I roam like a lost soul
Stumbling and diminishing
Passers looking aimlessly away
Like I’m the ugly duckling.
Unknown regarding fitting in…
Or if I even want to.

How lost does one have to become
To find a path to safety?
How much alcohol, will sooth the thirst?
How much pain, can one bare?

Digested by the sorrow of dawn,
Rehabilitated at the break of dusk.
The darkness generates light in my heart,
The pain creates liberation for my soul.
