Disappointment Poem by Sherman Peebody

Disappointment

Of late I have not been around,
Stopped receiving mail.
Canceled all appearances,
Planned no moving sale.

Do not attempt to call me up,
The phone's been disconnected.
Email has been cancelled and,
The network redirected.

I could no longer run the risk,
Of meeting them by chance.
Packed the bags and sold the house,
And made no backward glance.

To so few did I bid adieu,
No 'Hey it's sure been real.'
The medication helped somewhat,
But some things don't conceal.

Crossed the rolling country hills,
To hide near blue capped ridges.
In my wake I left the ruins,
Of crumbled, burning bridges.

Been such a disappointment,
To friend and family.
Please accept apologies,
For all I failed to be...
