Disappeared Reflection Poem by Deana Smith

Disappeared Reflection

Mirror mirror,
Where did I go, am I so changed?
I used to see in my reflection many things,
None so bad as what I see now,
Where did the laughter go?
The beauty,
The innocence,
Am I to live with this person in the mirror forever?
This person seems so cruel,
So hard,
So unforgiving,
So lost,
So sad,
So crushed,
So desperate,
Where did the young sweet girl go,
Who used to gaze back from the mirror,
Did the lady in the mirror kill her?
When people look at me they see beauty,
When I look in the mirror I see, many things,
I look and see hatred,
A bit of sorrow,
Oh there's a dose of shame,
Last of all me looking back at me,
I see Hell and damnanation.
