My Mother's Desertion Of Me! Poem by Deana Smith

My Mother's Desertion Of Me!

Rating: 3.0

My mom and me were so close,
I know that's why it hurt the most,
We were almost always inseparable,
Don't you see how what you did is so terrible,
You were always so loveable,
How could you be capable of something so irreparable,
Are you going to tell me it was all a mistake,
it was me you never meant to forsake,
Enlighten me Mother of your reasons,
Oh we already know that you had Demons,
Of course each and every time I wept,
When there was another promise you never kept,
You said I was your only daughter,
That we would never be very far a part,
Surely I knew I always had your heart,
You walked out on your family,
The pain was agony,
The gravity of your actions caused me pain and sorrow,
I didn't even care about anymore tomorrow's,
You are my biggest fear, me becoming your image,
That would be to much damage,
I will not give you the privilege,
How do we mend our bond?
Until it's once again strong,
To be able to look at you and see no wrong,
We have a lifelong bond,
To forgive each other,
Your my only Mother,
Together we can rediscover one another,
We can always learn to forgive and love each other.
Above all we are Mother and Daughter..
