Dilemma Poem by Russel Tanner

Dilemma

Rating: 5.0

There she stands
Alone in the rain
Should I go up
And ease her pain?

What if

The thunder rolls
As do her eyes
Her heart and words
Turning to ice

It would make me
Seem such a fool
Time is ticking
Life is cruel

But if

The lightning flashes
She turns round
Her smile reflected in
Puddles on the ground

I should feel
So high in ecstasy
But how to believe
She’d really like me?

Tentatively
I approach
Open my mouth to say...

But wait
She might stray

Even further away
