Desengano

A pensionista pálida que gosta
(Fundada pretensão!) que a digam bela,
E do colégio, à tarde, na janela,
Para dar-me um sorriso se recosta;

Que me escreve nas férias, de Bemposta,
Aonde vai visitar a parentela,
Pedindo-me que não me esqueça dela
E dando-me uns beijinhos..., pela posta;

Essa ninfa gentil dos olhos pretos,
Essa beleza de anjo... oh, sorte varia;
Vergonha eterna para os meus bisnetos!

Com um pançudo burguês, uma alimária
Que não a sabe amar, nem faz sonetos,
Vai casar-se amanhã na Candelária.
