Des Alltagslebens, Or Fehleistung Poem by Robert Sheridan

Des Alltagslebens, Or Fehleistung

'Everybody had a wet dream,
everybody saw the sun shine; '
Don't sweat it though, there is
no need to betray a repressed
infantile state, it all falls under
the category of slip of the
tongue, or errors of speech;
That's because in every case
there is presumed to be an
unconscious determinant of
the faulty action, which can
sometimes be inferred directly
from the context - on a brothel,
'That place blows'; on driving,
'I collided with a stationary
truck coming the other way; '
on a salon, 'Wanted: Hair-cutter.
Excellent growth potential.' on a
DVD rental, 'Be kind and rewind; '
So, with these in mind, I pray you,
tarry: pause a day or two before
you hazard; for, in choosing wrong,
thank you!
