Denial Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Denial

It is believed that you feel something for me
Instead you refuse your inner desires
Why continue to fight the emotion?
I do not accept your denial
Is it the fear of being hurt that bothers you most?
Or the fact you know that you will never have me as you want?
Still you must take the chance
Overcome your greatest nightmares
If I reveal unto you that I'm in love
Don't hesistate, surrender yourself unto me
Set aside your worries and trust your instincts
Knowing the answer you must acknoweledge it
As I romance you, make most cherished fantasies come alive
It can be a beautiful romance that can last
If only you stop fighting yourself
And going against a feeling of deep affection
Which only leaves myself baffled
Yet an interest doesn't die off, Until you feel you're ready
I'll continue to pursue the possibility of us
