Deja Vu Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Deja Vu

Déjà vu

Hey Judy
-near is Valentine.

What about you? And I?
What about yours and mine?

Ours, was killed with shotgun!

Then o we needed Jesus
-to breathe, give it life.

Now I must give it life.
Will give it a long life.
I shall and will revive…

Fictions and fantasies
-have been, are Shakespeare's
-and many more lovers
-like Bonnie and Clyde.
-but not ours…
- (A true love, real…)

In two kids, hearts throbbed
-very fast, blood pumped;
-innocence and the heave
-were tattooed in us, deep.

Whenever I read of
-or hear something of
-the true or false love

Déjà vu!
Déjà vu!
Déjà vu!

"There I've been."

We were there
-together…

Do you too?

Déjà vu?
Déjà vu?
Déjà vu?

What could I do when I
-faced your dad with his gun
-aimed at me; cruel-shouts:
- "Will shoot you; or Get out! "?

I begged him to see you
-to have word with the mom
-he added to threats
-my tears could not help
-to change him and to save…

I headed to the base
-Pepsi was first purchase
-then bottles of tablets
-since without you near,
-heaven too, could mean Hell!

Wish had not, but was saved
-extensive were wash of stomach, intestines
-then in bed, hospital as doctor had ordered.

Long after my mother
-showed me what you had sent
-a package, surprise, with letter…

Déjà vu!
Déjà vu!
Déjà vu!

You had cut your forelock
-formed in curl and scented
-love and too polite, with respect
-soft words of your letter, like flakes
-asking for her permit and her bless…

Who can find such a love?
-our love is far above any love…
- Déjà vu! Déjà vu! Déjà vu!
