Defining My Lost 'I' Poem by Soumita Sarkar

Defining My Lost 'I'

Tell me
Where lies
the butterflies
of the lovely land
guarded by fairies?

Long ago
a dream flew
its slender stem grew
thrashing twisting
boring through blue

Arose an air
of familiar flavor
grounded to the core
handed a stretched smile
defined me more a bit more

Some moments lone
in the mist of memories
laden with soft guilt
I stood amidst the sea
of an unknown bond

A rope of silk
pattern with rainbow hue
crushed me blindfold
Since then I have lost
Something vital
something amusing
Sometimes called heart

This I is a desert
of skeleton
dead and gone
Once beautified with dreams
Now a morbid valley
This Me is almost lost
in this sea that shares
only unsaid sorrows...
