Death Poem by C. P. Sharma

Death

Rating: 5.0

Hail to thee! O harbinger of new life,
You tide over all stress and strife.

Why do people defame you?
I know, your name is so true.

Why are you associated with blues?
Why do they have your horrific views?

You bring all the freshness in life,
Better half, you are my real wife.

You get me rid of all my stink,
Once again you paint me pink. .

With the cosmic power you link,
My illusions disappear in a wink.

All the dead wood is shed off,
New twigs and leaves up crop.

You daily smile with fresh flowers,
As if you are fresh after the shower.

I become a child once again,
Grand child takes away my pain.

I shall once again be a child,
Then I shall have new profile.

Once again I shall be free from guile,
Again, I shall have my innocent style.

“Life is but a sleep and forgetting”*
You take us to life’s real setting.

* Wordsworth

It is scary and comical in way that it looks as if death is laughing at us saying it is futile and as if you th poet has learnt to accept death.

A Faithful Lover He alone struts with swagger fine, To tame alike, humans and kine. He breathes with us, with us he dines, The cupbearer of life’s wine. He feeds us all - the beings of clay, As people raise chickens for prey. We play in his gape, love in his lap, Unaware of bewitching trap. He relishes our cries and sighs While lurking in passionless skies. He is the solid truth here His shadows are kin and peers. He is death, our faithful lover Who leads us to peace hued bower................. A Good Write...........Sharmaji.................

If people thought of death in this manner they would not be fearful of it. Lovely thoughts. '10! ' Warm Wishes, Marilyn

birth is the first step towards death. we are reborn everday. sleep is like death. Sir, you have so brilliantly brought across the idea of nothing dies, it just changes form. Mamta

nice way of putting it, Death is your wife... like the way you moved past the point of death, to give a fait look into the new begining after death. very nicely done 10+ Howard
