Dead-Bolted Poem by Matthew Foor

Dead-Bolted

Get a bit closer
A view of within
Feel your way around
For light shies away
Darkness prevails here
Floor dredged
Wet with tears
Walls rigid with scars
Windows present
But shaded with bars
Dead-bolted, barricaded and chained
Entrance standing firm
Wait long enough
Walls erect with passing time
Another obstacle to overcome
To reach this sorted heart of mine
