Technology Poem by Matthew Foor

Technology

Damn technology!
Damn it all to hell!
We eat, sleep, and breath technology.
I just lost a poem to that evil vermin!
Pouring my heart and soul
into this damn phone
Then what?
I inadvertantly hit 'Cancel'
POOF!
All history.....

Oh well.....

Back to square one
Tell ya the truth
It inspired my mind
To try and rhyme

Actually
Screw rhymin'
My generation has its own style
Old school rules
Not for new school poets

Now we write to express ourselves
Despite rhyme or rhythm
Diggin' down deep
Shovelin' that gunk
stickin to our ribs
dancing on our tongues

The lesson was not learned
I sit here typing into this damn phone
Writing hand needs a rest
Cramps set in too fast

Some may look at this
Saying 'This does'nt rhyme at all.'
But I'll say it again
New rules for a new generation
Traditions inevitably change

We follow one rule
Write from the heart....
