Day Of Women Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Day Of Women

Day of women

I was in Khojand where
-I found a good friend
-Delbar was a lady, a mother, a lion
-in US NGO she worked as headmaster
-and I taught their members, students…

Story is too long…
-KGB, my arrest and later being saved
-thanks to her students and friends
-to my daily poems carefully she listened
-then I wrote in Farsi
-from her I got how Soviets brought loss, good and deaths
-I learned how the March Eight was set as women's day:
-we wrote this to Bita, my daughter
-lovelier her answer

Anyway…
-our dear lovely ones, beyond half
-you whose age, average, is longer
-always by few years…
-body-wise, the weaker
-with which I disagree
-I see you firmer and strong

My reasons:
-which man can have baby
-which of us can give milk
-which of us has patience
-which of us know tricks
-to ladies belong these …
-they are yours
-let's agree…

At the end I wish you best of luck
-with success and wisdom
-let us love; live better
-…enmity is killer
-I go first…you follow…
-carefully think of this …
-don't repeat: 'patriarchal warning'! ! !
