Daughter Of Mine Poem by Allan James Saywell

Daughter Of Mine

How many times can a sunrise
Or can a sunset
How many faces can a man see
Or places he know
And yet i still search
For your face in a crowd
When i gaze in a pond
No fish do i see
Your beautiful face
Still smile back at me
The light shines brighter
The years seem less
I still have a window in my heart
For you daughter of mine

Actually John, Melinda was being sarcastic. Allan's daughters are not proud of him. They remember their childhoods. And they can tell bad poetry when they read it

Yes, a beautiful poetic tribute from an obviously caring, thoughtful, gentle, protective father. Only daughters who, as children witnessed and suffered abuse from a father would remain unmoved by such a tribute, as independently rational adults. Bravo.
