Darkness Poem by shameka jones

Darkness

Rating: 5.0

As the sun falls out of the sky leaving it filled with darkness, not a twinkle in sight to be spotted
Falling into a deep sleep in the darkness, tossing and turning

Something pulls me trying hard to take my soul
Calling my name with a raspy voice
Luring me in this place of darkness

As i surrender, the darkness covers me inviting me into it's realm
Offering promises of eternal life, joy and happiness
Informing me that my troubles will be left behind

Having no worries knowing it will be day soon
Darkness still clouds around me, promising me every thing life has to offer
Enticing me to choose which he had just offered

Knowing that i don't
Darkness shows me everything I desire for
Knowing that I have to

It felt like my life was ending here
I felt tempting having to choose, having no other choice
No light nowhere to be spotted, only darkness

As I make my decision waiting after every word I speak
No light only darkness
Waiting, speaking, waiting, speaking
No light only darkness

My mind was set
No light only darkness
Having no troubles in the future I felt heartless
Nothing to feel, emotions, pain, happiness, joy
I was the queen of darkness

All I needed was light It didn't come
