Dark Man Poem by Robert Graves Jr

Dark Man

Rating: 3.2

Celebrating my 60th year,
Amidst the balloons and kids,
Grand kids, friends, neighbors,
Cake and ice cream,
I noticed him standing there,
At the edge of the lawn,
Silent, patient, expressionless,
Like a limousine driver
Waiting for an important client.
In a shock of recognition,
I suddenly realized I had seen him
Many times, in many places.
Till that day, I never guessed
That he was waiting for me.
