Dancing Desires Poem by Asma Khan

Dancing Desires

Your memories fall into my thoughts
like stars fell from the sky

Your dreams capture my vision
like the moon shines in a dark night

Your grief strengthened me so much
like a mountain of flame and smoke

Your love has broken me badly
like a deadbeat in a living being

Your existence in my life has impaired me
like there is no pain in the world worth taking

Your departure has shattered me
like the soul flees after death

Your presence gave me security
like the nature nurtures the seeds in the winter

Your promises credited me with faith
like the sun rises from the east

Your purity touched me deeply
like crystals sparkly in the dusky evening

Your Very-self brought me to this point
like the wolves howl in the full moon's night

Your agony has caught me
like dancing desires in the mid-night's fire!

Desires are the by-product of hopes. Our thoughts nurture them every time we take sigh and wonder what will become of us.
