Dallas-Love Field Poem by Beth Bailey

Dallas-Love Field

Rating: 5.0

After too many years, and too many miles apart,
I touch down into your world.
Searching for you in the crowd, sudden recognition brings a smile,
first to you, then to me.
The earth has stopped turning..
All sound rushes away as we walk toward each other.
Your arms reach me, envelop me. I pull you in close.
My face is pressed against your neck.
I feel you, I taste you, for the first time.
And the dream has become real.

Unexpected tears escape to my cheek
You loosen your embrace and search my eyes.
'Oh, why are you crying? '
I can't speak.
Instead, I hold you tighter and find a place to hide in your shoulder.
Even if I found my voice, my words would not be able to express
how it feels to finally be.......home, safe within the confines
of your love.

The spell is broken by rush-weary travelers.
We gather our things and head toward the exit,
Joining hands as we walk into the fire together.

This is great. I have to have 20 characters in this field before I can submit the comment. So, if I had to say something it would be along the lines of establishing some rhythm. The material is all there.
