Crossing Over Poem by Bill Cantrell

Crossing Over

Rating: 5.0

I am!
I am at that place where poets can go no further,
This ledge where we can view the other side
Oh, how glorious it is!
How wonderful,
How complete!

It all makes sense now
Always sensing there was something more,
Something better
We could never catch that perfect feeling,
Failing to pen the poem that said it all
Why did we try to touch with words,
When we had hands?
Seeking to see with our mind,
When we possessed eyes?

And when we were at the threshold,
Of penning the unsung song,
We would settle for less,
And this is the shame we must humbly shed,
Before taking this leap

My dear friends,
I will see you on the other side
Yes, when you come to that place where words are not enough,
You will find me, and there you will find peace,
For there is no lasting peace in a poem

Don't cross over....I want you to stay here. But if you decide to, I will meet you on the other side. Love the way you write! :)
