Creative Liars Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Creative Liars

She saved my line with "Mugu"
And you said it means "Darling"
You never have data
Yet, you are always
You call him your bestie
And he does sleeps over
You are just colleagues
But his voice is the last you hear at night
I am just a fool

You need something light
Yet you finished a bowl of coldstone strawberry
You said you were a virgin
Until she came and called you Mummy
I can't imagine myself with another
Lies from the pit of hell
She can't conceive
Because she is a virgin
Creative liars

I am a virgin
I want to believe you
But this, a topic for another day
Greatest of all is this
"I love you", scam of life
How come we still fall like "Mugu"
Boys have been "Mumufied"long enough
If you leave me, I'll die
These, a bunch creative liars

meaning of " Mugu" : in Nigeria: 'big foot'; 'in the West it is mainly known in the context of Advance fee fraud' (whatever that is!) stanza 3: mummified? check spelling you sound somewhat embittered! ! ! poor fellow. i enjoyed this poem. stanza 1: " data" what kind of data? or MAYBE you meant " date" ? ? 'a date', as in a get together with a possible 'romantic connection'? to MyPoemList. bri :)

1 - Are " entrepreneurial strategists" creative liars? ? ? ? ? now to read your poem. [wow. Kingsley's comment would not make feminists happy, ...or would it? They WANT to be 'men', don't they? ha ha] line 1: what does " line" mean here? or do you mean " life" ? line 4: " always" what? i like when poets throw in some (correct) punctuation. stanza 2: Cold Stone Creameries in CA & OR, USA? not TOO far from me; i'll go get some!

Ladies and lies are inseparable, however most of their lies are cheap and easy to puncture.
