Crayons - I Am A Kid Again Poem by Paula Glynn

I love rainbow colours and gorgeous paints
When the painter combines those luscious colours
Down the plain canvas to create a masterpiece
Brushstrokes magical with the artist's approach
Whether with acrylic or watercolour
Charcoal and oil paints
And even crayons to be used
Creating the artist's masterpiece,

For as a child I loved crayons
It felt creative and right
And adult crayons work
For with crayons
I am a kid again
I am an artist with ultimate creativity
Enjoying those beautiful rainbow paints
Imagination to share with everyone
And have them relate to rollercoaster emotions.

Every medium used in art
Does come from the heart
And come from the soul
Creativity to grow and grow
Creativity and colour what I know
Because the artist does see beyond
The bland and boring
And see beyond black and white,

And every morning I paint that canvas
Starting with a pencil drawing
Shading with adult crayons
For children's influence
Does keep art young and fun
To gaze in wonder in art galleries
When the working week is done,

And art does tell stories:
Both positive and negative
No matter the year or decade
For we all learn from art
We all learn to think from the heart
For art is art:
To enjoy and encourage
From childhood creativity and imagination
To enjoyable adult art classes.

Crayons - I am a kid again:
And shall always be in my heart.
