Cracking India, Why Not Cracking Pakistan Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Cracking India, Why Not Cracking Pakistan

A Parsee girl child's recounting her days
In the pre-Partition time
As well as during the Partition
When India was cracked
Or the cracks figured in,
Fissures and splits raked it badly.

But stories cannot be told in one way,
It was but the communal mobs
Gone mad and frenzy
Wreaked havoc,
The mass of illiterate, illogical gatherings,
Uneducated and uncultured people
On a rampage, gone berserk.

The novelist leaves the story unconcluded,
Unsaid for to be appended
As she wants not to offend anyone,
Leave it India,
What is Pakistan doing,
Are the minorities so good there?
Break the news.
