Crack In The Ceiling Poem by ives vanhouche

Crack In The Ceiling

Crack in the ceiling

Dazzling figure
Devilish design
Reducing
human creature
into a head
missing a spine.

Ravishing eyes
diving
into mine
destroying
all that's
decent and fine

Black queen
toppled
White king
Values
Bend the knee
Morals
Shrank shamefully

Poppies
Awakens
Lust and desire
Hidden
Under a blanket
Of dust
Spread by
A local friar

Weeping mothers
Cursing fathers
Blatantly picking
Their daughters
Flowers.
Lavishly seeding
red carnations
on needful acres.

Countdown
Cardiac device
Crack in the ceiling
Staring eyes
Beckoning
Hells stairway
Soul unshacled
Passed
Lucifers' gateway.

Here rests
Remorse and regrets

Crack In The Ceiling
