Country Travel In New Mexico Poem by Marilyn Lott

We don't spend a lot of time in this state
But it is fun to travel through
It's country and so glorious
I think you would think so too.

Old homes, some now are empty
Other's keep the farm going
Windmills whirling round and round
When the wind is wildly blowing.

Cattle roam here and there, of course
Sometimes even on the road
"Open Range" the signs will say
"For Sale" signs and some farms "sold."

But it is country through and through
That is why I love it so
You too should get on the road
For country travel in New Mexico.
