Cosmos Are No Longer A Thing Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Cosmos Are No Longer A Thing

One of my biggest fears
Is not being able to love you to
The fullest extent that I know you
Deserve.
Although this has nothing to do
With you and is strictly a me
Thing.
I see a lot of myself in you.
& In seeing that & learning you, I've
learned a deeper part of myself,
I am learning to correct myself
Without being told.
When I look at you I see so much
Potential. I see my life partner
And a place no doubt my sun will
Set.
I admit that sometimes I see this &
Immediately begin to overthink.
There are so many things I see
That I can do better.
In truth, I've made some bad decisions and question my ability to love. Although they were nowhere near life threatening they still were
decisions I made before I met you
And while taking the opportunity to
Get to know you.
When I look at you, I see this
amazing person that makes me
Want to wake up and be the best
Me I know that I can be.
I see a person that I want to strive
To make happy.
No matter which direction the
clouds head, my sun follows you.
Curious in the quiet storm that
brews inside of you,
I am not embarrassed to admit that
Or that at times I can get very prideful.
That's when this fear arises the
most, when I look at you.
But most of all where most would
Walk away these are the times you instead love on me the hardest.
I am learning to correct myself
I am learning a deeper part of
Myself.
Although this has nothing to do with
you, it has everything to do with you
& Your deeper level of
understanding.
If at times you catch me staring
At you, I am admiring God
Work his magic with every step
You take.
Although this has nothing to do with
you, it has everything to do with you.
When I look at you I see so much
Potential. I see my life partner
And a place no doubt my sun will
Set
& I thank you for letting me set
In your sky
Hopeful, until the cosmos are no
longer a thing
& Fear no longer exists
