Contradiction Poem by Sana Olivia Hernandez

Contradiction

Rating: 3.0

I am a contradiction.
I love.
I hate.
I'm anything but neutral.

I am complimentary.
I am insulting.

I care a lot.
I don't care at all.

I'm blue.
I'm red.

I'm happy.
I'm sad.

Sure, I'm sane.
But I'm also mad.

Good and bad.
Light and dark.
Kind and cruel.

Far beyond prediction.
Yes.
I am a contradiction

This poem is your personal Declaration of Independence. You are marking off some imaginative space in which you can explore every possible subject you might want to consider writing about in a poem. In a volume of your poems this could be the first one because it introduces YOU and establishes up front one or more of your key themes as a writer. Imagine if you just took 6 of the words describing yourself herein and wrote a poem on each! That would result in a thorough self-portrait - and there would still be more waiting in the poem.

Aren't we all contradictions at one time or another? Being able to announce it, through your fine write, is applauded! We, of many facets and faces recognize ourselves herein. PEACE
