Consumed Poem by Nancy Fischer

Consumed

The sight of you
Inflames me
By your touch,
I fill with urge
A quivering of the thighs
As our bodies
At last entwine,
I do all I can
To take in all of you
It’s here I find myself
Wanting to milk
The very essence of you
All of who you are
Or ever hope to be
That which is pressed
Against me
Inside of me
Full at first and then
Half past
The thrust against smooth walls
Above all trees
Show summer arms
Full of with blossoming cherry
They reach down toward us
Cradled are we
And the sweet scent of floral
Consumes the air and all that,
We see and taste and feel
Our skin is covered in the feathering grass
Knees burn and turn red and soft green
An arched back reaches
Toward the summer sky
Moist and slow
Bloom of oak
Wet moss
Our only witness
Inhale
Hold
Release
