Conflicting Business Poem by Danny Draper

Conflicting Business

The crime that came, stayed and reigned
Perpetuated in deceit and pain
Shifted the hands of industry
Diversified in barbarity,
Moved resources and capital
To growing markets new potential
Plant and labour's sacrifice
Logistics funds to analyze,
Old players gladly mobilize
Stoking white hot old cartels
Global in their scope and reach
Ready for the clients brief,
To settle scores, masses to teach
Manipulate and have them pay
Build new vaults for treasures drain
Coffers bare, but threats contained,
Greive and wail at sanity broken
Crushed and wasted fade away
There's always more as threats refrain
Stoke the cartels new markets call,
'Our way of life is threatened today'
A multinational global campaign
Never rests or misses a chance
Readying governments in myriad ways,
With tools for threats that were unknown
Resolved by costs unimaginable
But for national security indiscernible
Such is their concerned display,
Around the world their stocks just grow
And profits from all sides sustain
Youth fodder lubricates the machines
Day and millennia turns and churns away,
Business does what business does
And corporate sponsors, Anzac Day.
