Confidant Poem by David Harris

Confidant

Rating: 5.0

We all need a confidant
to tell our deepest secrets to,
the ones we cannot share with our spouse.
Someone who will not get angry
at anything we say.
Someone who we can trust
to not spread around
what we have to say.
If we do not have a confidant
things begin to play on our mind
and the problems within them
begin to fester out of control.
Just waiting for us to release
what we have bottled up for so long.
There is no right or wrong in feelings
only our own guilt we sometimes feel.
We all need a confidant
who we can talk to.
They will be the saviour of our soul,
helping us to ride across the rocky terrains
our lives sometimes move along.

We all, do indeed need a confidant. A great listener, but perhaps not necessarily a great understander. My confidant is our dog. The things that I confide in him, are nobodys business HeeHee Best Steve 10

You captured the essence of a 'confidant' quite well in your lovely poem. Thanks for sharing. Spiritsong
