Conductor Poem by Diana van den Berg

Conductor

Rating: 4.6

I was spellbound
by the graceful arc
of his arm
and the precision
of his movement.
Did he train in Vienna?

I longed to hear the woodwinds
awakened by the white glove

pointed

but
reluctantly
I drove on,
otherwise
the cars behind me
would have honked,

and the pointsman
would have directed
his traffic officer precision
and ire
at me.

To find beauty in the grace of every day is a talent indeed my friend.

this made me smile... :) everyday I also see a lady stationed near a school who directs traffic to make sure the children are able to cross safely and I look at her and think...what a noble job....and done so gracefully....

What a wonderful comparison your piece has made here Diana - -the traffic controller with great precision is so often rushed by and missed - but happily not by your pen and I thank you for versing this beautiful action which the next time I see I shall take into my own heart..... greetings from Cornwall U.K. and 10 plus from Fay.....

Beautiful image of the conductor Diana and your work does flow graciously to the end. I am sure you could well imagine how the woodwinds sounded with your creative mind. Love it! 10 Karin Anderson
