Company Of Strangers Poem by bob barci

Company Of Strangers

I'm sitting here alone again.
No one approaches,
as if they don't dare to.
Is my 'KEEP AWAY' sign out again?
I have to find a way to destroy it.
All I want is company.
I'm alone and cold.
Company would warm me up,
but no one approaches.
I'm in the company of strangers.
Strangers, yes, even they would do.
I'm too far away from home to make even the familiar strangers a
welcome sight.
A familiar face passes now and then,
they say hello, but keep on going.
I wish one of them would stop and talk.
This cold I feel is getting colder.
I feel it seeping in and taking control of me.
The music plays, but it doesn't help.
I'm still alone and cold.
Company!
Where are you?
Why are you avoiding me?
Come and let me start a life here,
here in this company of strangers.
