(untitled #26) Poem by bob barci

Saturday morning shows
just aren’t what they used to be.
I can remember a time,
not all that long ago,
of actually rushing into work on a Saturday,
just so I could watch the TV.
Had to work from 7a.m. to 12 noon
and for some reason,
only got 2 or 3 customers at the best.
So, on went the black and white set
that was there behind the counter.
Being Saturday,
nothing much was on besides cartoons and kiddie shows.
I quickly had my favorites ones.
But for whatever reason,
the shows I liked to watch
only lasted a year or two.
Could never understand why that was.
Nowadays, the shows just don’t grab me as they once did.
I’ll watch 2 or 3
just because they’re on when I get up.
I guess out of habit.
Saturday morning shows
just aren’t what they used to be
but, I still watch anyway.
