Coming Of The Lord Poem by Randy McClave

Coming Of The Lord

To the rich you will howl and weep
From the treasures that you hide and keep,
Your riches are corrupted and your clothes are moth-eaten
And your conscience and integrity has been beaten.
Your riches will be a witness against you
In the last days when you will be judged by your sins true,
You had hired laborers who had reaped your fields
But, you paid them nothing, so now they can't pay their bills.
Your fraud and your deceit has entered into the lord's ears
So, has their pain and suffering and their counted tears,
Since the day of your birth
You have lived in pleasure and comfort upon this earth.
You have refused to help the poor and the sick and the needy
Your wealth has made you both evil and greedy,
You have your riches and all your earthly wealth
And all that you care about is your own desires and health.
Those who have nothing you will quickly judge
And those who take from you, you will hold a hateful grudge,
You have hated and condemned those who did resist
Even the ones you had loved and had passionately kissed.
When you die you'll have no wheelbarrows or baskets to carry your things
Behind you, you will leave you gold, fine clothes and your rings,
Now behold! The judge is standing before the door
Soon, is coming of the Lord.
