Come Up Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Come Up

Come up

Her name was
-Gol Ghoncheh
-meant bud of flower
-a Tajik with Russian influence
-decided to be named "Galena"

Did not know of her life
-though we both lived in Khojand
-learned of her; Ismailite
-and from Badakhshan

Her eyes were emerald
-a sky of stars in sunshine
-I learned it far later; had
-married to Afghan
-from him had a son

Mahmood was a rough man
-of city in Iran
-did his best to have her
-stubborn, patriarch
-and had failed

Once, alone, two of us
-I rested on sofa
-and she lied on floor

"Can come up if you want! "
-I said and in no time
-everything went alright
-include that event
-was smooth and too soft

From then, everyday
-she was my breakfast

Do not know why at times
-I miss her after long
-her body and those eyes
-that simple woman who
-had lied down on the floor
