Colorful Birds Poem by Cee Bea

Colorful Birds

there was something very telling about
this gesture
a myopic landscape where
peanut butter mountains and
free ice cream might really exist

we are such industrious
creatures and at pure heart
our world fills with flowers
and trees ….and colorful birds

within a display of painted magic
Kingdoms,
within bold blue sky's
and pine trees that became
a fence of green and hope

I imagine they giggled often while painting
remarking how a character painted, resembled
a 'certain someone who we wont mention'
or visions of something very near
and very dear, now a placard
in a once dark doorway.

It captured my surprise, and weaved a painting
of it own before my eyes
and for a second...

every thing felt exactly right.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was written after viewing a series of pictures in a poorer side of some town. It had been painted with everything to make it lighter and better. It told a thousand tales.

Poverty is curse painted by ignorant devil on the canvas of humanity, contrasted with politics and put on the museum for giggle, wriggle and wiggle and nothing else a lovely note..thanks for the poem to share
