Cold Hearted Poem by Lyssa Renea

Cold Hearted

Rating: 4.5

The abyss in your body, right above your left breast
Dark and cold, no room for warmth
It seeps blackness throughout the rest of you
Leaving me shivering beside you
Your “heart” is nothing more
Than an abandoned cavern, making you cold
Turning you against everyone else
Freezing your body over
The blackness within you, protected by your ribs
Will one day become so deep, so dark
Even I can’t stand here with you….
