Coffee Shop Poem by Mat Ship

Coffee Shop

Careless slurping on my larger than life coffee, its warmth fills my mouth and radiates out through every cell in my torso, extending the electric buzz through my fingers and toes.
Everybody is rushing and bustling about, like zombies in fast forward, their emotions kept secret. The rain pelts down upon them, driving them to find shelter, it compels their feet in a certain direction, destination unknown. They seem lost
Mindless chatter surrounds me, keeps me warm, envelopes me.
A single droplet of water, one drip of rain splodges into my coffee, it showers me with its contents. I laugh heartily at my misfortune, some glance my way. I can taste the purity of the droplet in my first sip. The clouds have relieved themselves; the passing storm leaves me feeling cleansed.

Stunning glimpse into someone's morning.... the perfect morning... raining... bustling of people - you, the voyeur of their lives and moments, enjoying life itself tremendously (the coffee could be a metaphor) ... well written Mat... you should do a song with this theme. Yuri*
