Coded Speech Poem by Paul Hartal

Coded Speech

His words are Janus-faced.
They bubble pompously,
stirring in concealed layers
delivered in sugary strata.
The crowd cheers.
But the message flummoxes,
people are muddled.
And then they turn to the left
and also to the right,
simultaneously.
