Closing Our Eyes Poem by Randy McClave

Closing Our Eyes

Let's close our eyes and pretend that it never happened
Let's forget what we saw,
Let us look down at our feet, while being discreet
Then let us turn our faces unto the wall.
Let us erase it from our memories and our thoughts,
And then never will we be able to connect the dots.

Let's close our ears to what we have heard
Let's pretend what he had heard was never spoke,
Then we won't feel ashamed, and we won't feel blamed
Especially when it's our time to vote.
Let's be innocent with our soul and conscience,
Let's not hear it at all, as once did Pontius.

Let's close our lips and do not speak
Especially when we are repeating a lie,
Gullible people are easily deceived, especially when a untruth is believed
They are indeed truly hell bound when they die.
When you speak a lie you are just a liar,
When you believe in a lie you are heading for hell's fire.

Let's turn all of our common senses off
Especially when we know that we should of known better,
We then can believe in any falsehood, pretending that it is all good
Shame is them brought upon our begetter.
When we are judged by God one day,
He will remember every single lie that we heard and did say.
