City Lights~ Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

City Lights~

Rating: 5.0

Bright bridges spanning waterways
Lacing gripping land to land
Rivers sweeping wide and fast
Ships with purpose forge ahead
Buildings bristle on the shore
Subways tracing their foundations
Airplanes roaring through the clouds
Humming roadways never ceasing
A million gem-like lights now shining
Moonbeams dance in glad reflection
Shimmering down upon creation

City Lights~

an enlightening poem of the man made beauty that comes to life at night? ......well written.

Y'know Tom although I am no personal fan of cities. I still marvel at their amazing skyline and civilization in general. Yes man made beauty. Why people are fixated on looking at some little screen when the entire universe is there for observation is beyond me.

Beautiful and picturesque description of a city near the water bodies lit by a thousand neon lights and shimmering in the night!

The night glow of villages and cities. What beauty there is in those things that make up our world. Humanity thrives and civilization advances and makes it possible for many millions to know happiness. We take so much for granted when we turn a faucet or a light switch or the keys of a car.I am grateful for these things.

Buildings bristle on the shore with shining light that reflects mind and humming roadways. A million gem-like lights are now shining. A great imagery is drawn here that reflects mind's moment more and faith shines with life...10
