Circuits

To the distance and durée
of a Tour de France,
a round of golf's a sprint,
a tout droit, a pas du tout,
a nullité.

Tell that to a golfer,
to whom it's a farrago,
a méli-mélo, a torture,
une tournée.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
16.5.21. Both 'tour' and 'tournée' mean 'round' as in 'circuit'. un méli-mélo (may-lee-may-loh) : a collection of miscellany; mishmash, hodgepodge.: chaos; muddle. Cool! While researching the French word méli-mélo, I learned a neat English word: farrago = 'a confused mixture'
