Christmas With Mom And Dad Poem by Dr John Celes

Christmas With Mom And Dad

We miss our parents both for this Christmas!
My father passed away in eighty-nine;
My mother died five years ago, old-aged;
Our hearts are filled by memories of the two.

The Christmas we enjoyed those years were fine;
A lot of work was done by everyone;
The night-mass was the acme of the Day;
New clothes and sumptuous food made Christmas great.

All members of the family tried to meet;
The home was filled by laughter, jokes and cheer;
I hung the star I made all on my own;
A festooned branch of tree was set with crib.

Each Christmas was an improvement each year;
The sense of satisfaction was immense;
Sobriety, gaiety, sharing was the key;
Christmas greetings, cakes and sweets added hype.

Each Christmas with our parents was the best;
The home was warm despite the winter's cold;
We thought of neighbors, relatives and friends;
Christ seemed to be born truly every year.
