Christmas Of You Poem by Michael Peterson

Christmas Of You

Woke up early today
A different Christmas Eve
The tears flowing, memories of you
Dreaming of a White Christmas
The laughter and excitement thru the years
Decorating of the tree, Glitter and all
The presents under the tree
The lights and the yard glowing as ever
Our favorite Christmas shows on TV
Singing the songs of the season, out of key
The making of cookies, Sneaky one here and there
Cooking dinner, Standing in line to eat too..
Gabbing of years past, wonderful memories
Watching you smile and laugh when opening gifts
Seeing the kids laugh and cry on Santa's lap
Pictures, all of Christmas past
Cheers of joy and love all around
Today, I go to visit you all alone
In the cold and in the snow
I kneel in front and say a prayer
I tell you stories of Christmas
Sing the songs we loved, with tears in my eyes
I sit an wonder why the angels needed you more
Wishing you the very best, my angel
As I blow you a kiss in the snow
Love Ya and Merry Christmas in heaven my Angel
As I lay this rose beside your grave
I will always bring you one, on this special day
This is our Christmas together till the end of time
